I have escaped my building. More later...

Missed my bus again. So pathetic! I saw it though, it was there when I parked, just not when I walked over. At least I sort of have an excuse today (what? Isabel? no!!!) what with the b-day thing...

Thanks everyone for the happy wishes & stuff, you're all super-lovely people! Smoochies!!!

Oh, and I forgot to tell about the show! And it was exciting too. So I went to see the 'Cinderella' opening show on Saturday. And it was good and fun and the little kids all seemed to enjoy it. And, drum roll please, people gasped (in a good way, rather than in a "fish gasping its last" kind of way) and applauded when the scene change to my fantabulous castle happened!!! (I was told this isn't normal for kids shows, but they might've just been being nice) It went over really well (especially the cool fountain). So, yes, [livejournal.com profile] tikimama, I am great. Heh.

Missed my bus again this morning. But can I really continue to call it "my" bus if I never actually manage to catch it?

So after my manicness of this morning, I have fallen into the post-fun activity/sugar rush zombie slump. I don't want to do anything or be anywhere, with the possible exception of my house. And that's 2 hours away from where I am, so no love. Plus, work was weird today, though for much different reasons then yesterday.

At least the sneak peek Carnivale thing was entertaining though.

I need to sleep more. I mean, when you come home and say, "I need to get some sleep, I have to be on a bus to work in 6 hours, but first I need to shower all the glitter off..." several days in a row, it's just not good.
podling: (tada! doozer!)
One of my coworkers got me a handblender!!! Woohoo! Life is good. Oh yes.

Oh, and I finished the Cinderella set last night!!! I added a 6' high fountain on a drop, then I used another 10 cans of glitter spray on the set (bringing our total to ~20). There was a small glitter spray fight as well though. I ended up looking all kinds of glittery, my overalls, my hair, my sneakers, my skin, all covered. Anyway, when the stage lights hit it, it looks fabulous! I'm actually pretty happy with the outcome. Seriously, a week ago, I would not have thought I'd be this happy with it.

The praise from onlookers is a bit weird though, I never know what to say... Just saying 'thanks' seems kind of weird, but, 'I know, I'm great' would be sooooo questionable. ;)

So... in this book I'm reading there's this whole thing about the Illuminati. Did world leaders ever actually warn people against them in reality? I mean, I'm just curious.

What? I said nothing!
There is *no* Illuminati!!!

The first thing that sprang to mind when I woke up this morning was this...

Phony Beatlemania has bitten the dust!

It was kind of an odd start to the day. Clash in the morning, Clash all day!!!

(I don't even know if that line is correct... heh)

It's odd, I miss having cable. I'm not one of the intelligensia who believe that tv is evil or low-brow or whatever. I'm just trying to see what my new living situation needs in terms of cash influx, then I will adjust and hopefully re up for cable. Honestly, I haven't been home enough to watch much anyway, and I *need* to unpack, so it's not like I should be watching it anyway. I'm strangely glad not to have it this week, because all I really need is to see countless memorial shows about the WTC (though I get recaps at work, which is... unsettling). But still. That show Carnivale starts this weekend, and I was kind of looking forward to it, and now I won't be getting to see it unless I convince someone to tape it for me. I mean, really, a drama about a freak show? It sounds tailor made for me. The only way it could sound better is if there were random Illuminati references in it or exorcisms.

To correct an oversight...

I'm having a party on the 20th. I sent out an invite to many people, but probably missed some. If you want to come and need info, let me know.

Smoochies!!!

The sky was not the same brilliant blue. And for that, I am glad.

On the way to work today, the churchbells were ringing as I got off the bus on Liberty St. I want to not be affected, but find myself unable to achieve thoughtlessness. Listening to the bells, I realized this is the time of the first crash. There are a lot of people standing around. I kept going.

Entering my office, when I got to my desk, there were two votive candles burning on it, to remember.

I just still don't get why Willow is a lesbian rather than bi.

I mean, okay, yes, it's an internal thing, and you can't understand other peoples internal identifications, never mind a fictional persons, but still. It seems that in TV world there are no bisexuals.

Realized it's been a while since I last posted. Much has happened. Or not that much, depending on how you look at it. I've been to MA and back, and down to Philly for dinner & a movie with [livejournal.com profile] crowyhead which was fun and stuff. Her new apartment is simply faboo! The podmobile has had necessary system adjustments made, though now the rear defogger now is non-functioning. I visited my oldest friend whilst I was in MA, maybe I'll post more about that later. I've been thinking deep thoughts, some brought on by that, some by other things.

I've been painting big theatrical things, which has been a fun & tiring diversion. Cinderella's castle looks distinctly sci-fi inspired, but I doubt many children will think too hard about it or say something like, "That belongs in 'The Last Starfighter', not Cinderella!!! The artist is a big fake poseur!!!" so it's all good. So far I've left a distinctly Super Mario-esque happy cloud in it too. We'll see if that lasts. I've also stopped saying, "Wow, that looks HIDEOUS!!!", which is an obvious improvement as well. It's not hideous really, and the woods I'd painted are on the back of the flats, which is pretty funny to me.

My house still isn't unpacked. Hardly a huge surprise, given that I've been out more than I've been in. I did take a mental health day last week, but oddly got very little done that day. Well, except have dinner with [livejournal.com profile] nanne, actually. I believe it'll be done soon though. Really. Really I do. Um, if I get around to it, really. Oh! But there's a new baby tree out with the others (the coffee trees & the rubber tree), a lemon tree, no less. So one day I'll be able to make a cup of lemonade as well as a pot of coffee. It'll probably be a while, the lemon tree is only 5 inches tall. Anyway, I'm thinking of having a small party on the 20th of this month, so I guess I have to really be unpacked by then.

Saw "The Order" in NYC with [livejournal.com profile] jennywrenn on Friday. I enjoyed it, though I had a hard time with Buckaroo Banzai as a Cardinal. The guy who played William Eden though, mmmn. Tasty. Saw what was coming not too far into the film, but I still enjoyed how it played out, for the most part. Anyway, things are going, going, going, rolling along as usual. Now I must roll with them. Ow, rocks on the ground. Oh, nevermind... ;)

It has occurred to me that after only ~10 years living in NJ, I've finally adjusted my internal processing to it. Because of the slight difference in sales tax between MA and here, I used to always be 10 cents short whenever I bought a cd (which, when I was a freshman at college, was every week) and I'm not anymore.

I'd meant to post something about the results of the Barbie quiz the other day, then got involved with something shiny & red. Plus, my laptop was left at work for several days. Anyway, it's amazing how well you all know my preferences. The truth is that all the scenarios were valid ones. I mean, really, I had endless time for playing. Ken & his other guy friend had to be shared by the group of Barbies, and it was a loving communal situation. The stripper one was actually suggested to me by my uncle (he was probably 16 at the time). But it's true, the Lego & G.I. Joe's did invade quite often, losing body parts along the way. ;)

This weekend I'll get to see my brother, and perhaps we'll blow up some Barbie dolls. Or reminisce. Hard to say which, but I'm thinking drinking might be involved in either.

Thank you all for playing.

I was going to post something about my life, the hecticness, the unpacking, the paint-splattered fun times, but instead, you get this. Go here...

http://www.8legged.com/ and hit "now playing" It's informative as well as funny. Go! Go now!

I mean, after all, who remembers me posting my mood ring colors way back when? Heh. I'm so very gloriously joyously blue today, after all.

So I don't normally post these, but this cracked me up... )
podling: (lego me)
So... not like there aren't other things going on, but I realized I hadn't polled anyone lately. This must be fixed, obviously! So. So someone told me that they couldn't picture me *ever* having played with Barbie dolls as a child. Now, most of the people reading me know me, and I'm wondering how it seems to them. So, on with the poll!
