So... not like there aren't other things going on, but I realized I hadn't polled anyone lately. This must be fixed, obviously! So. So someone told me that they couldn't picture me *ever* having played with Barbie dolls as a child. Now, most of the people reading me know me, and I'm wondering how it seems to them. So, on with the poll!

You know, I'm realizing that there was Barbie sacrifice in my childhood. Some up on top of the house, offerings to the sun deities, naturally. And we also dug a Barbie swimming pool in the back yard. So some got stuck in the trees. And it's possible there'a a Bog Barbie or two.

Barbie would occasionally "fall" off the mansion in an insurance scam too. Forgot about that.

Oooooh, me too! Blond Barbie was always trying to push Polynesian Barbie off a cliff. It was obvious to me that Blond Barbie was evil because of that fakey-sweet smile of hers. Really prepared me for dealing with the Vanderbitches!!

I used to play "Dark Shadows" with my Barbies (two dots of red nail polish on the neck work well). Along with pinching their heads into bizarre facial expressions, sticking pins in them and making weird tin foil and other strange material outfits for them.

Tin foil? Hmmn. I think I did that. Their heads never stayed in weird positions when you squished them though...

I am guilty of Barbie Decapitation and LOTS of Hair-cutting. When I got older, I used to use them to decorate around the doorway for Halloween...you know, wrap them in spiderwebbing and have a giant tarantula on its way to get them....ooooorrrr like, Have one holding its own bloody head and pointing at the doorbell with a sign that said "Ring if you Dare."

Yeah. I loved it.

My brother and I mummified them for Halloween at least once. I think we made the Barbie mansion haunted too. But the spiderwebbing sounds like a great plan!

well, i don't know you to comment on your barbie playing... but it did remind me that my brother and i once played challenger explosion with my barbies... that kind of took care of the barbies for good.

Oddly enough, my uncle (who's 6 years older than me) never strapped a firecracker to any of the Barbie people, though he did it to most of our action figure type toys. Oh, he did motorize one of my Barbie cars with machinery taken from the hedgetrimmers though. Hmmn.

everyone our age played with them in some fashion. Why? Because we got them as presents. I've met your aunts. I know how many Barbies you would have gotten.:P

Hey man, I liked Barbie! It's not like they were all unwanted! Plus, Barbie was cool. She was rich, didn't need a sugardaddy, could do anything she wanted, including living a poly lifestyle with cabana boy Ken to do her bidding as her CMLS. If she occasionally got killed or taken hostage, well, that's just life. ;)
