So losing the VCR has made me think about getting rid of all the tapes, because then I'd have more space, but then again I possibly should get a new VCR, but maybe I should downsize the collection. It's all a lot to think about and I *am* trying to work. But since I haven't polled anyone lately, here, make decisions for me...

You really should have put in those boxes that let us give more than one answer. Because I think you should both chuck it out the window, and steal your parents' vcr at Thanksgiving. And sneak the spawning tapes back into their house.

Yes, I noticed that. Although she did bring an interesting image to mind, the strung-out hamster moving a zillion miles per hour on it's wheel. Although it is still an animal, much like your weasle reference. Still, I wonder what such atire would bring.

VCRs aren't that expensive now and you'll prolly want one down the road when you get TV channels so that you can tape stuff. I speak from experience on that one. Plus buying DVDs of movies you already have VHS just seem like an unnecessary expense at the moment. Yahoo also has groups called freecycle where you can post stuff you want to get rid of and people will come and pick it up.

Borrow the parent's VCR, don't buy a new one for now. Put up the VHS->DVD Christmas list. As the tapes get converted (slowly), give them away to whoever wants them.
