Celia set me up to post by phone, but I haven't bothered to actually do it yet. Or else I'd probably post every day. Possibly about pirate monkey wall sconces, or the differences between hunting for cheese and milk in America's Dairyland or perhaps how walking several miles to somewhere where you can walk around, then walking back several miles is kind of a questionable plan... anyway. On with the story.

I have class at NYU every Monday for the rest of the summer. So now there's at least one day a week where I have to venture out of the immediate area of my workplace. So far it's going well, and I have the bonus of being able to get a student discount at the movie theater again (yay! Harry Potter tonight!). I need to study more though, if I actually plan on using this as an additional income source. I need to be *GOOD*.

So this month marks the second month in a row that I can afford to pay my bills (not paying them off all the way, but still). In fact, this week I'm even going to buy *groceries*!!! Really low on food these days, but then again, it's been 4 months. I'm living large, oh yeah. Anyway, this hasn't happened since before I moved last year, so, woo! 2 months!!! And yay! for tax refunds! This would be easier if I actually had checks, there was this bit of unfortunateness with running out at the exact same time as the takeover transition took place at my bank. So it's been almost 3 weeks, but I'm assured that they're on their way. So I've been doing more wire transfers and online banking lately.

Work... well, that's another thing entirely. Work has been... different. Can't go into it now though. It's a toss up between trying to explain in full, or trying to figure out how to sum up. In short, I'm not thrilled. Actually, if I didn't go on vacation when I did, I'm not entirely sure what would've happened. Probably not happiness, would be my guess.

But there are other good things...

the Finn Bros. are going to be here in concert in July. Trying to decide where to see them is the issue here. I mean, DC on a Weds? Philly on Thurs? (probably that's the one I'm going to go with) The NYC one is a double bill, and I've never listened to the other person.

My mp3 player is on its' way back to me already! It should be here on Monday. This made my day when I found out. I was happier than I'd been in ages! My baby, it's coming back to me! Fixed!

I got out on the water in my kayak last weekend at Farrington Lake. That was great!!! Seriously. If I ever get around to going to club events, I'll probably have more fun, but even still. And sometime soon I plan to try to actually go surf kayaking. But part of me is still hesitant after last year's beating. I mean, the bridge of my nose was black and blue for 2 weeks.

Books... The Michael Marshall (Smith) book was fanfuckingtastic! And I'm psyched that the next Dark Tower book is coming out next week. Now to figure out how to get my hands on a copy!

This one's actually kind of bittersweet at times, but having come out of my antisocial period, I've been making contact with various friends. Still love you!

crap, I'm either going to be in France, or madly preparing my invited talk for it. Meh!! Must figure out a way...

You should go back out surf-kayaking. But only if you can get someone to go with and spot you/trade out, and if the waves are less than 2 feet high.
