Apr. 16th, 2004 10:09 amRecently, my mom told me two weird things. One was before I visited, the other was after I visited. Mind you, I did see her when I visited, but still.
So the first, from last week... She tells me she's decided to rent a place in Florida next year. I asked her if that mightn't be a bit rash, I mean, I know she likes it there, but moving? And she said, "No, for a week!!!", which does indeed make more sense. And then she said it would be for my 30th birthday. So. That's pretty cool. People can come, we can go to amusement parks, I can celebrate, woo!
Now the thing from after I visited... Last night I needed her advice on something about that whole Home Depot thing (look below if you want to know why) and she tells me that she was watching one of the home shopping channels (but only for a minute, really (and I believe her too, not!)) and decided that I needed a new showerhead that simulates rainfall. So in 5-7 business days, I should be receiving that. She said if I don't like it, I can send it back, she won't be hurt. Hee.
So here's the thing about Home Depot... I expected that they weren't interested in hiring me. But they apparently changed their minds, provided I work in the gardening department (which is sad, I'd rather do paint, but whatever, it's kind of a moot point anyway). Except that I signed up for a summer class, which, while only one day per week, will probably make working two jobs and continuing to do set work kind of impossible to balance (you know, along with homework). So I've decided to tell them that given the situation at my regular job (where everything's been turned sideways and continues to morph daily), that I need to take classes and can't really do it. So that's that.
