Life & a contest for artisty types! Woo!

Right, so life's been busy. Was up in MA again for several days, got to see family, a couple friends, cissa got the most Andrea-time this visit, which was most fun!!! Then I came back, and I need to get my place in order for the party I'm having on Thursday (for anyone who missed that, hi, I'm andrea and I'm having a party. Do come) which may take a bit of work. Oh, and working overtime sucks. But it's all good. Year-end is nearly really over. I have stuff to do still, but... whatever. This is not the year-end wrap up post. Who knows if I'll even do one. Maybe at Chinese New Year. It's going to be the year of the monkey!!! Anyway, on to the contest...

So for a while I've wanted a tattoo. But deciding on the design and where it should go and the money situation have prevented me from getting anywhere. And I don't tend to like my own art. So, artisty type people, here's what I'm looking for... I would like a somewhat stylized sun with a spiral in the center. A celtic-y spiral thing. Ready? Go! Design me something! I can't promise to use it but I'm hopeful. The winner will get something appropriate to them. Really. All copyrights will remain kept by the artist, though obviously I'd like permission to use it at least once. Thank you.

2. I hope this contest works for you. I once asked a specific friend to draw a tattoo for me, because I really like his art, and he totally freaked out. He was like, "What if you don't like it?!" He didn't seem to get that I just wanted to hand him a pencil and paper, not an ink gun and my arm. Sigh.

I also am excited about the year of the monkey! People at work keep telling me it will be my year, plus there's the whole crazymonkeylove thing.

The contest... I hope it works too. I'm not sure any artsy people will actually take it seriously. It's funny though, I don't know that I'd ever like a design of mine enough to want to see it as a tattoo on anyone. Still, that's funny.

When you say "a celtic-y spiral thing", do you mean one of the triskele three-fold spirals (as on all that repro celtic jewellery), or a spiral labyrinth (as on that famous rock in Cornwall), or just a spiral, or is it up to the aaaartist?
I shall give it a go, but it may take time, since I still have sodding owls to finish off.
Are you sure you wouldn't rather have a nice celtic coypu?

so, i'm getting caught up here on LJ and saw this... did you get a design yet? i had wanted one for 5 years before i finally got the one pictured here. i had always wanted a butterfly, just had to wait for the right time i guess.

and good luck, for me, it hurt like hell.
