So I just got a call from someone in HR asking if I wanted to participate in a confidential roundtable discussion on events surrounding 9/11 and memorials and stuff. Now, this is odd in itself, and if my coworker wasn't on vacation I'd totally go, just because I'd really like to hear what people have to say, and what they want to know. Dammit!

And I'd like to know why they're calling me also. I mean, okay, so it proved my flexibility in emergency situations, but how and why would they know that?

I'm so confused. And annoyed that I can't go.

Tell them why you can't go, and ask if anything else comes up related to it, that they ask you again?

Well, I had to decline, but I explained that with my coworker out and us being food service, I really had to be in my office at that time, but that otherwise I totally would've. She seemed to accept it, so maybe some other time.

Uh, well, he wasn't there to ask. It *was* after 3 that they called...

I'm thinking maybe they're going to do something on 9/11 that they want peoples' input for. Maybe. Or maybe something for the HR employee magazine thing.
