Then explain to me how anyone thought it would be okay. No, really. Yesterday people working at the World Financial Center in NYC RAN OUT INTO THE STREET BECAUSE A PLANE CIRCLED THEIR BUILDING!!!! (I should point out, that isn't *exactly* what the article said, that's what the people standing in the street said) Need to revisit your post traumatic stress syndrome? More counseling anyone? I would've left the building and not gone back all day, thanks. So then yesterday afternoon I searched news sites to see what exactly was going on. But there weren't any reports then. Interesting, thought I.

You know, standing on the corner that once was across from the towers, people occasionally talk about when they fell, because, well, every day you're standing across from a big hole in the ground with tourists clustered around it, the subject does come up. It just does. Sometimes it's weird and uncomfortable, usually it's just neutral. Yesterday though, oh, it was something else entirely. Fuckwhores.

Good gods. What were they thinking?! Oh, right, they weren't. I think the FAA should be required to pay for all additional therapy sessions for those with relapses because of this.

Seriously.

Personally, I was just angry about it. I didn't even notice the plane, I just saw the helicopters (that I've heard were there to escort them) and thought it was pretty odd that there were helicopters hovering over the financial district. As is, I'm pissed, if I'd actually looked up and seen it, it'd probably be a different story. But either way... When I first was told this'd happened I was totally disbelieving.

Yah I'd be angry too. I'm sure all those not totally freaked out are angry (and probably those who are freaked out too). I mean, I'm out here in California and I'm angry at their lack of thought at allowing it. Not to mention the lack of thought of the pilots for requesting it.

Are helicopters flying around the downtown area fairly normal?

Yeah, I mean, there are traffic helicopters and you can take helicopter tours of Manhattan as well (I think juanfandango's scribe did that when he was here) so it's not that odd. They don't tend to hover in one place though, and I don't think they're generally that low (though I could be wrong there).

Oh that's right, there are helicopter ports for top execs and stuff as well as the tours, eh? You'd think after all the movies I've seen set in that city I'd remember such details. But no.
