I had told my dad that I clipped the passenger mirror off my car. So what did I hear about that from not only him, but other family members as well (including an auto mechanic) when I saw them over the weekend and they got to see it? Something along the lines of, "Nice job! I'm so impressed! You sheared that thing off clean, didn't even scratch around it. That takes skill!"

At least you know that your family is proud of you. :)

Nah, they're flattering you. I did that to someone *else's* wing mirror, so how hard can it be? And I only hyper-extended my own mirror...

I feel your pain! There's two things wrong with my car - the right fender is slightly off. I did that because my gestapo landlord made me so nervous about "who cracked the fence" that I didn't notice my car scraping against the side of the building. I mean, what crazy landlord hires some physicists to analyze the damages to better narrow down which of six cars created the damage?

The other thing is that my driver's side mirror is hanging on my sheer willpower. I was backing out of the garage. My a-hole roommate had such a sensative alarm, that if I parked to close to it, it would go off. So when I was backing out, I clipped it.

Don't sweat it, there's so much worse to do!

Sorry - for closure, no. I was ruled out thankfully by the physicists. They did figure out who it was, and said person was charged for damages.
