Obsessive thought for the day
Mar. 8th, 2003 11:53 pmSo today I got up very early and left the house at 6:30 am to go to the Philly flower show with some friends. Approximately 2 1/2 hours later, some guy calls my answering machine and says, "Is Andrea in?" twice, leaving no other information. An odd message, to be sure, and not exactly one chock full of useful information. I listened to it about ten times in an oh-so-vain effort to discern who it was. And it's painful. I know that voice. I don't know why I know that voice, but I do. But I can't figure out who it could be.
astrophysicat believes it to be a member of my family, but I'm fairly sure it's not. It just didn't sound like any of them. But it's so naggingly familiar a voice.
And I mean, I know a lot of people, I've had the same phone number for five years, and I am listed in public phone directories. I don't have caller ID. Who was it? What did they want? Will they call back? Why didn't they leave a real message? And why does no one ever seem to figure out that it's an answering machine that is telling them to leave a message?
The other thing, most of my friends aren't up at 9 am on a Saturday morning, so that was kind of odd too. Who was it???
Whoever you are, call me back sometime! I'm weirdly obsessed with figuring out this oh-so-very-minor mystery...
