I thought it was the number of seeds eaten. Like 6 for winter. Meanwhile, I've eaten at *least* a dozen years worth of individual seeds...

Nope, Andrea was right. she had to stay there one month for every seed. Persephone ate 6 seeds, so she had to stay there six months of the year.

The Underworld? *THE* Underworld? No. Though that would be interesting too. I was in Massachusetts, not *quite* the same thing, though it may be a matter of opinion...
