(no subject)

My stereo is possessed. I know, I've said this before. But it's developed a new problem (in addition to deciding which cds and tracks it will agree to play, and to the volume knob working backwards most of the time).

So picture it... this morning, 12:25 a.m. I wake up, thinking I hear voices nearby. I then realize it sounds like the Devlins cd that's in my stereo. I get up, fumble through the dark to the living room. The stereo is playing by itself, apparently somehow the alarm clock setting on it got turned on. No, it didn't somehow accidentally turn on. This thing is possessed and annoyed at me. I know this now. Because you know what? My other appliances don't wake me up at half past twelve.

Why does it torment me???

And in other music related news, I sent my mp3 player back again today. Cross your fingers...

So I called my mom and asked her if by any chance she bought the stereo from a satanist, or a store kind of like the one in the Friday the 13th TV series, or from a guy named Vlad with pointy hair. She said no, it was all quite normal, but maybe it was on a straight lined path when I moved and a japanese spirit* infested it. Now, this is all well and good, but I'm not sure what one does about that.


* In landscape design, I was taught that the purpose of zigzag garden paths in japanese gardens was to prevent spirits from attacking mortals. Four years of schooling and this is the only thing she remembers me telling her about my studies.
