I was reading Fortune magazine this morning, there's this article about how sad the plight of Generation X is relating to job security, raises, debt, and future financial security. One person said something about wanting to die young so they don't have to worry about retirement. I've thought this myself occasionally. I wonder it it's a widespread thing. Well, I thought it was an interesting article, anyway, I mean, for something in a financial magazine. The one on househusbands was interesting too...

Well, I sort of understand that, but I don't know that we're really worse off than baby boomers... My mom keeps worrying that she won't be able to afford to retire at 65, despite owning her own home and having worked hard all her life. And I seriously doubt that my dad will ever be able to afford to retire completely, unless he inherets quite a bit of money from his parents.

Meanwhile I'm putting the maximum allowable by law into my 401k each year, so hopefully I'll be ok in my old age...
