Oct. 8th, 2002 09:11 amSomething I noticed today... there are signs on the street that say this, "Don't even THINK about parking here". I wonder if they work.
Something that annoyed me yesterday... so my bus stop is on the corner of Liberty and Trinity right before it becomes Church St. ie. diagonal to where the twin towers stood. And there have been vendors selling cheezy tourist "let's make sure we remember forever" crap for a while. But now there's a new one set up on that corner where the bus stop is that plays that stupid mix of Enya song with news reports. When I rule the world, the person who made that mix will suffer. The guys playing it incessently on the streets of NY will get a lesser punishment, I think.
I'm trying to decide what to do if he's there again. I'm debating going over to him and saying, "How much will it cost to buy enough stuff to make you stop playing that horrible song? I don't have the money, I'm just curious if it's easier to do that or organize a mob of disgruntled people waiting for the bus." But I don't know... on the one hand, he has a right to capitalize on the misfortune of others, it is the american way, but on the other, I have the right to wait for a bus without feeling homicidal or at the very least annoyed. I mean, okay, so that's not really in the constitution or anything, but it should've been. "We have the right to lay the smackdown on those who annoy us at bus stops." Yes!!!
