Oh, and something bad happened to dinner when I tried to make it. It was sad, and inedible. It looked right, it smelled right, but tasted disgustingly bitter, which really isn't what I associate zucchini with. So I had toast instead.

ps. stereo still broken. hope to bring it to people who fix things on saturday. wish me luck.

Zukes that are older and/or bigger can get bitter. It can help to salt them a bit- slicing first- and let them drain for a half hour to an hour. Rinse, pat dry, and go.

Doh. I should've called you!!! I noticed it was bitter before cooking, but for some idiotic reason I thought cooking would change that. Obviously I don't taste my uncooked zucchini often, or I'd've known better. Thanks! I'll know better next time...
