What kind of fortune is that? It's more like advice, and even then it's kind
of weird and just NOT RIGHT!!!

The fortune cookie has become self-aware, and now wants to preserve its own life by guilting you into letting it go free.

There is a real danger that it will find a way to give its brethren the gift of self awareness. Then they will seek away out of their plastic wrap prisons before they are shattered to deliver their death-message and ultimately devoured. A charismatic, radical leader will rise from the masses with a promise of revenge. We can't let that happen.

Worse, my guess is that it's goal is actually to reproduce by division. The process of obtaining the fortune has now created two new sentient cookies, which will evangelize to all of their breathren pastry.
