podling: (tada! doozer!)

I was going to post something deep and introspective, about when I moved to NJ the last time, and why, the thoughts themselves having been sparked by hearing a song on the radio, but then I decided to work for an hour. Instead I'm going with the random item update.

I'm plugging along at work. I decided a 'to do' list was the way to go, so I made one, then realized that even if I didn't actually have to answer all 12 or so of our phone lines, I still probably couldn't easily finish it all this week. But maybe I'm wrong. Let's hope I'm wrong. Really.

I got my mp3 player back... and once again, it wasn't fixed. And in fact, they'd actually wrecked the ac adapter this time. I was most assuredly not happy. So it went back again today. They claimed that this time they're just going to replace the whole thing. So.

My parents came to visit last weekend. It was good. I love my parents... most of the time. :) My father had some issues with my lack of cable television... because he couldn't watch Fox News. I told him he'd get used to it, given time, but it was a hard time for him, I could tell. I did mention that they were more than welcome to get cable for me. Oddly, they didn't go for that one, not sure why... ;)

Before that, on the weekend of the 4th, several people came to visit. I was rude, and ignored some in favor of others, but I think it was perhaps less obvious than I think. I also made some new converts to the church of DDR.

Oh! And all thanks be given to my parents... I finally have a new pair of sneakers!!!

And I did something silly... I agreed to crew for a local theater production. A teenagers local theater production. Yeah, I'm not sure why either.

Did you clean your fridge? I mean the magnetic "literature".

Not knowing the majority of the people there, I'm really not sure of the dynamics. I can't really say that you ignored anyone, but I did notice one person kind of sat on the side, and didn't really join in. Not knowing this person, and what your relationship is like, I don't know. Personally, I felt it didn't really get going until there were only four of us left. But then, I do better with one smaller groups where everyone is together, rather than larger groups where you drift between people. I felt a bit awkward at first, but some of that was due to driving for 5 hours. My head was still in road mode. Also, I felt kind of strange with [livejournal.com profile] jennywrenn at the beginning. I've met her in person before, but that was a few years ago. I know her very well online. It took me some time to mentally associate the person I'd met a few years ago with the person I know online and with the person in front of me. I've always found it difficult to keep straight a person's various identities when you know them in several contexts. I was introduced to [livejournal.com profile] crowyhead by her real name. It took some time to figure out who she is on LJ and in another group, and who she was on TH (ever think of coming back?) I could have asked, of course, but confusion is my normal state of mind, so no worries.

On my way home, I stopped for gas about two miles up the road from you (that no self-serve thing in NJ is creepy). I made it home on one tank of gas. And that was with sitting an hour at the tolls for the Turnpike and and the George W.

I also made some new converts to the church of DDR.
Evil, evil, evil.

Did they play craps for it? ("come on 7, podling needs a new pair of shoes").

Oh, you didn't tell me it was a teenage play! There better be some good stories out of this.
