Right, so the book I was reading, "Possession", has been made into a movie that is opening at the end of this month. And I've made an executive decision to not finish the book in light of the fact that I want to watch the movie. Yes, that's right. Movie wins over book this time. But on the plus side, it's freed me up to read something that I can zip through faster.

Oh, and all day today I had to listen to my boss make little comments about his theory that I stayed home yesterday because I was hung over. Now... I've never really been that hung over. I don't really drink that much normally, and I hadn't done it the other night certainly. But does he believe me? No. Like I really need this. I'm so glad he's left for the day now. Everyone do the happy dance!

I do hope that, regardless of the quality of the movie, you do go back and finish the book! It is a very good read. Besides, I have major issues with at least one of the changes the moviemakers made--they made Roland an American! In the book, he's so veddy British, and it's partly the contrast between the Brits and the Americans that gives the book its flavor. Roland's living condition and the despair it causes are pretty uniquely London, IMO.

I will, of course, go to see the film. Must support the making of literary/literate films with challenging subjects.

I'm annoyed I didn't get to see "Lovely and Amazing." It closed at the local-ish art house theater last night. I've been too tired/sick to go to the movies lately, not to mention that my left eye is acting really, really strangely.

Is it coming late to work? Cancelling dates? Doing a Ukrainian tribal dance? Wearing more black clothes than usual?

;)

I could never finish that damn book, anyway. I tried and tried, because I kept hearing it was such a great book (I don't think those people read it, either, they were just afraid to admit it) but it was such a ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I have a higher tolerance for snoozy movies, though. So I'll go, because it has Gwyneth in it, and I like her.

Hee!

I wish...that would be more fun than it being hyper-light-sensitive, watering a lot, being fuzzy-visioned, and not liking having a contact in. I really need to have it looked at. Need a new lens prescription anyhow (and this time, I *will* get glasses as a backup--my glasses are several prescriptions old, and the left lens is too strong. Can't stand to wear them).

dude, are you joking? man, your boss sounds like big time wank job. i would not put up very well with continuous comments about alleged hangovers (true or not!) sounds like some form of harrassment. hmm. maybe some witty retorts next time to shut him up... like "i'll give you a hangover" or "you're a hangover". ok, they are not that witty, but they will maybe leave him puzzled and then he will think you are weird and leave you alone. ha.
