Things from the weekend...

Because for some reason Monday never seems like the time to post? I don't know. Anyway, so the show I'm teching for opened up. And it's a good show! And the set (which I had nothing to do with, heh) is amazing! It was a fun time, but I have my doubts as to whether I really belong there. Belongingness is pretty much always an issue in the back of my mind, so this isn't exactly new, but still. I just don't feel as dramatic as everyone else. I care about the show, but I'm just so much more... calm, I guess about it. Ah well... In any case, it went well.

And then... so many parties, so little time. I was invited to 4 or 5 places, only made it to one or two. 'course, I couldn't show up till after show time. I ended up being awake *really* late at least one day (cue my father's voice in my head... "did you get in early?" and my response, "sure, early in the morning!"). Oh, and I was Death from Sandman. I looked so cute! Thus did my experiment in goth-ness fail. But I was a fairly decent Death, as such things go. I even wore the makeup during one of the shows. People kept telling how great it was, though most of them had no idea why I had that. I think they just think I like drawing on my face. Heh.

And I had a most satisfactory holiday weekend. Friday I was very much not in the spirit, but Saturday afternoon, driving through the exceptionally warm changing season day with The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack blaring with sidruid, well, it was a fun time...

So what sort of teching were you doing? And don't worry about not being a drama queen, it wouldn't suit you anyhow. You can be the one that all the more sensible ones come to for advice...

Eh, I'm just moving set stuff around, pretty much. It's a big set, lots of changes back and forth, lots to be set and struck, you know the sort of thing.

I think I worry most that they'll think that I don't care and will trust me less for all that. But it's probably just insecurity showing through, really.

Hi... I did a search on location and found your journal and we're in the same town! I'm also a Gaiman and Eddie Izzard fan! (I got my copy of Sandman: Endless Nights signed by Neil himself! He drew a really cool picture of Dream in it.)

Just curious whereabouts you are. I'm in Apartment complex hell (Royal Oaks) :-D

I also saw Eddie Izzard in NYC on Oct. 11th. He put on a great show!

I got my American Gods signed, a while back. He's fabulous... I desperately want to get Sandman:Endless Nights. Waiting till closer to holiday time, so I'll remember to bring it to the parents house so my brother can read it. Hmmn. maybe I should just get him his own...

Anyway, I was at the Oct. 7th Eddie Izzard show in NYC! Weird! It was so cool being that close to him! I actually have a signed Dressed to Kill DVD (which, I am aware, probably marks me as more of a geek, but I don't care, he's so great!!!).

I'm actually in a different apartment complex hell. Whispering Woods. Whisper it, it almost sounds like a spooky place. Whispering Woods, woooo I like it though. I only moved in during the summer, but it's starting to seem like mine.

That's so cool though, I really don't know anyone else in town (hell, most people I tell don't even know where it is)! Do you mind if I add you?

It really worked well. What was funny about it is that the eye makeup actually blended in with my hair sometimes, so it wasn't too obvious I had it on. It was kind of a double-take for some people. But I was *adorable* (not that I'm all about me or anything)!!! I didn't take pics, but I may do it again for part of a photo shoot.

Yeah, that's really sad. I think I'll wait till the crowds die down, much though I love opening weekends, the only night I'd be able to go is tonight. Ah well...

But yes, your party was lovely. And yay! Though now people have asked for pics... I don't think there were any though, were there?
