Dreams

Work has infiltrated my dreams. And we're not talking hot businessmen here, we're talking weird random people and vague feelings of nervousness. Damn them!!! One would think I'm a workaholic or something (which is *so* untrue!). Though there was kayaking in the dream too, so I guess it wasn't all bad...

I am proud to say that in 4 years of this job, it's only invaded my sleep 2 or 3 times. However, I have started dreaming about the dog, and spending valuable dreamtime worrying about whether to take him out for a pee...

Oh. Yeah, I know that one too. How annoying. I mean, dreams are supposed to be interesting escapes into cool & fun adventures in alternate universes! Aren't they?

You'd think. But no, it's all "I bumped into X and we had a bit of a chat and then I went for a walk". Oh, apart from the one where the Beloved was setting fire to the tree outside the window of my childhood bedroom, for reasons of poetic/mythological necessity. But mostly, they're pretty dull and not at all surreal.

That sounds like a pretty cool one with the tree! I'm so much more into the surreal ones, it's a pity one can't just make them happen. Or the sex ones, those can be fun romps. Heh. Actually, I do tend to have a lot of surreal ones though, seriously. And when I was younger I used to dream about bizarre post-apocalytic type movie plots, like huge wars that would require us to form enclaves, or aliens taking over the planet, that sort of thing.

Was it you who dreamed the entire plot of one of the (I think) Terminator films before it came out? Or was that the other coypu?

I think that was the other. Though that's a delicious plot. Hee. There was this one book I read (one of those brit romancy things that tanaise pushes on me) where when this one girl is dumped and depressed she watches Terminator over and over, and keeps watching the scene where Reese goes, "I came back through time for you" and crying.
