I feel vaguely disconnected right now. Adrift, really. Nothing specific or anything.

Maybe it's the absolute absence of crazymonkeyloveslaves in my life. Maybe it's still being awake at this time in the morning. Maybe it's PMS. Maybe it's the soon to come visit to the parental manse for turkey day. Maybe it's work stress following me around. And honestly, there's a lot to think about there. And yeah, I know what I should do, but still. Wish I could just disconnect the part of me that's obsessing there. Or maybe it's the lack of an art project right now, or the slowing down of my social life now that the weather isn't as great.

And really, I saw Harry Potter tonight with cool people that I like, and enjoyed the movie muchly, and it even took my mind off work briefly. And I found out that "Reign of Fire" is coming out on DVD next week, which will give me a post-apocalyptic movie fix, always welcome really.

But still. There's something getting to me... oh well. Maybe it's the universe telling me to go to bed...

One word.

Brainnnnnns!

Really, if you ate his brains, you'd stop obsessing on the work situation.

Never be without an art project. That can cause lots of vague anomie.

BTW, I"m not sure if I'll be able to make the get-together after turkey day; I may need to go with J to his ex's to see his son. They're postponing the turkey partly so he/we can make it...

the devlins!

We really do need to put thought into our snowflake idea. I mean I have no objection to putting up 60 more eyescrews in the other beams, but we do need to decide if it will really have the effect we want. I mean the white and black sections will be cool, but the complete coverage effect might actually lessen the impact of the installation.

hmmm.

Though yeah, I'm really starting to think that snowflakes could never look anywhere's near as cool as the bats do, partly because hanging snowflakes is so much less original (I mean malls do it all the time).

So perhaps we should just start the lighthouse.

Perhaps rather than adding snowflakes to lots of the bats, just make a really nice one to hang form the central bat replacing the gem (which had represented the party) with a snowflake representing X-mas.

Maybe also hang a couple of the little stockings from the bats as well....

I know! I want to see you, too! I'm not at all sure about going yet; I may well stay here, since I'll propably still have prep to do for the show. I'll email you when things get more figured out.

It's really not something I *want* to do, and honestly I'm hoping I can have a good enough reason not to. I don't know these people, at all, and it just sounds pretty weird-- visiting J's ex-wife, and all her relatives. Awkward!

The set building sounds cool! What's the play? And stage lighting has always fascinated me, though I've never done the least bit of it. What will you be building? We often attend Props Day for the Christmas revels, and that's always lots of fun-- building the various props they'll be using, mostly.
