Okay, so this is actually from when I was in DC last weekend visiting [livejournal.com profile] tanaise. I'm copying it here so that later, when I say something about my father being insane, it'll make more sense... So he's represented by the letter "R" (for his name is Rico) and I'm "A".

R: Hello? Who is this???

A: Your daughter, Andrea. Remember me?

R: Yeah, what are you doing in Colorado?

A: What? How would I have gotten there? And why? And why do you think that???

R: Well... The caller ID says "District of Col"

A: Columbia. District of Columbia.

R: You're in Columbia?! What're you doing there?

A: Drug running, obviously.

R: No shit!?!

A: Uhhh....

So anyway, now I'm home and last night he decided to lecture me about finances. But not my finances, at least not for about 75% of the conversation. He was lecturing me about my brother's finances. Yes, that's right. I had to listen to him bitch and moan about how he doesn't approve of the way my ADULT brother handles his money and how my father is trying to teach him fiscal responsibility. I pointed out that a) I didn't want to hear it, and b) he probably should've tried to teach that to him earlier. Then he started in on how I shouldn't go to movies as often as I do...

Can I just say how very happy I am to have left for the parental manse yesterday early afternoon, rather than have to drive though snowstorms? And sure, the plans I had for last night pretty much fell through (meh) but whatever.

They (mom mostly) forced me to shovel snow today, but given how seldom I have to do it these days... ah well. Hopefully I'll have some fun here also, who knows? I do have plans with a few people. I keep kind of not quite calling people, which is not real useful in the whole "get out of the house" thing. Well... at the very least I can make use of the 5 DVD changer they have. Sucks that they don't have the FX channel though, no Buffy marathon for me...
