Sep. 29th, 2004 10:51 amSo this morning marks the second time that I've jumped onto a moving train. Once I really would've thought this not likely to happen ever, never mind twice in a year. My train-hopping grandfather would've been so proud!!!
But apparently everyone who was amazingly late yesterday decided to show up early today. So I got the last spot in the regular trackside lot, then ran for the train, and jumped on right after this other guy did*. The conducter, lovely man that he is, grabbed me to make sure I didn't fall backward off the train. So all in all, an invigorating start to the morning...
Then I saw
digriz at the other station. He seemed confused to see me but still tolerated me talking to him and poking him until we got to his stop. Of course, he's probably cursing my early-morning cheeriness even as I type this.
* A note about my station: it has low platforms, so they use the stairs on the train. so to close the doors, they have to shut the traps first. which means that adventurous/stupid people can sometimes jump on right as it's pulling out.
